I'll get caught up & then it happens all over again ...
<sigh> ...
Brad's old bedroom door
did I go overboard with all this ?
just really experimenting with what I can do -- how I can use the things
getting a feel of it ...
If it doesn't work out, it just doesn't... I can give it away or often, reuse it in some other manner
this is Brad's door ... he likes to point out the items in the room & explain them ... GOOD ! I'm glad SOMEone can ! LOL
Garlands with Sizzix die cuts
I crocheted the string with a tiny hook
all hanging on my Aladdin Lamp
the white hearts are from clean milk jugs the other ones are pop cans
things that catch my eye I add to the inside of my cabinet door
this was befor I added the Washi tape to frame the hamberger image from the carry-out bag
glue a clothespin to the inside of a cabinet or on a wall in a corner (wherever) to clip small things -- this serves a duel purpose... a clip UP & a clip IT !
from a hamburger carry out sack on the inside of my kitchen cabinet door
another place things keep getting added as "interesting" or "catchy" or "art"
(more like "pop art" -- or, maybe this would best be called "industrial pop art"
the lettering below it is Halloween themed peel & stick alphas
the green plaid all around it is Washi tape (Japanese scrapbooking/crafts masking tape)
empty Coke Special Edition filled with food coloring water & clustered on twine with big macreme beads I had laying around out in the craft shop
skinny frames cut from aluminum contact paper
fabric catalog images fill in the middle --
these were what I call the "shell" left from after the die cut image is removed.
the part left after the image is removed from the backing , I learned to call the "ghost"
recycling bullet casings, or hulls ... whichever ... the spents"
if they take me with them shooting -- I pick up a little -- for some excersize ...
Sizzix leaves in Brad's bathroom
I haven't been in there much lately --
I buy dies to suit my needs of things I get an abundance of
I have star dies for the yellow & white styrofoam trays
a spider die for the black ones ...
Sometimes there is a green one ...
I use the appropriate die for the material I want to use up !
this image shows a lid off a black grocery cold case deli meat product with a spider cut out of it ...
SOmetimes it's just fun to make the things then give them away !
small corner hanging storage, sorting, get organized empty food cans
this is my laundry room beside the little pantry
there's another bunch of them in another corner out here
everyone loves this hanging from my front room ceiling ...
When this pic was shot, it wasn't finished or up.
I fashioned a wonky hoop but have found hoops & want to remake it so it looks more tidy...
These are drink cans but on most of them I covered the printed side with copper contact so, one side is copper & one is aluminum
I attached them to ribbon with tiny handstitches but some are stapled (for now) until it comes down when we move again (as planned) & when I figure out where it will be when it's rehung
hung around my single bare bulb in the front room ...
<3
:)
Lacy vinyl leaves cut from what was bought as "vinyl window covering"
I love this stuff & the day I got it it was on sale :)
Just peel & stick ! Presto!
I also pulled the label off a bathroom hand soap dispenser & placed one of these same lacy leaves on both sides --
awwww
nice :)
more sizzix popcan cutouts !
I love die cuts !
This is on my deck.
At first, I wanted to attach them with little brass tacks. TOO HARD TO DO EASILY !
I then realized I could attach them with 2 or 3 regular office staples in each one, placed in the best place to maximize the hold.
do you know what these are ?
ok.
I'll tell you.
They are rollerballs from out of empty deodorant !
Aren't they cute ?!?
They remind me of turtle eggs !
I can tell the item that the box held on most of these
the ones with yellow, red & blue are Ritz cracker empties.
I like using upholstery tacks instead of thumbtacks because the stem is longer, I can add more pieces, they look fuller & stick into the back porch wall better
fun with fringey flowers
this gets added to off & on -- I need to catch up with some backlog I allowed to happen -- maybe I can do that this afternoon
Also -- the box with the leaf in the corner : saltine box covered with woodgrain contact (or similar brand) My favorite Sizzix leaf was used as a template & paint pens -- it's holding recycled brown paper that came in boxes things were shipped here.
Since this picture was taken , I did another one & hung it near the first one .
the other empty saltines box
I have found 2 kinds of woodgrain peel-n-stick ... I like the lower one best
where the trash is kinda pretty !
just keep adding to it ... and adding...
window charms
doily or whatever it ends up being made from my brand of TP wrapper
I gave up on this for awhile finding reusing so many cast-offs before they end up junk is very time consuming -- causing me to buy LESS which is a good thing :)
It is also very very messy -- here's proof :(
I give some of the catalogs & magazines to the care home ... but there's still a lot of them !
BESIDES the 7 or 8 magazine subscriptions I had -- my neighbor or someone keeps requesting catalogs to be sent to my mailbox !
I do know how to make paper beads, but there is NO WAY I have time for so much extra -- just LOOK at this mess !
OMG
THAT mess has been gone a long time -- but there is always a NEW one ...
child sized bracelets from rings cut from empty pop bottles
cut yarn from t-shirts & wrap ! Other items if you have them, to decorate ...
3 beautifully tinted plastics from bathroom products
I got some Sizzix jewelry dies & tried cutting hearts from the red one --
3 nice sized reusable plastic jars
the one on the left had drink mix.
the one with the blue lid had a laundry booster.
the one with the copper foil leaf had aqua-balls used in planters & flower arrangements !
my favorite leaf die cut from empty Irish Spring bottles
<3
beverage can sizzix tree
this is up year round... there really are pine trees & such (in real life) around here ... not in MY yard, but our old houses had them !
from pop can to deco with a crank of the handle !
i did this with my Sizzix w
recycle your kitchen cardboard into fashion deco alpha accents or deco lidded origami boxes using pretty paper napkins to cover them !
recycle your kitchen cardboard into fashion deco alpha accents or deco lidded origami boxes using pretty paper napkins to cover them ! This is a simple & low cost to NO cost way to use kitchen cardboard as craft material. Stencil the letter(s) you want (I used the letters in my name) on the backs of food products cardboard & cut out as many as you want to form a stack of them. Secure them with tape & cover them in pretty paper napkins using glue to adhere them.Cut portions of the same napkin out to use the designs as embellishments. As you can see my napkin had butterflies & flowers.I cut them out & added them. Using a piece of scrap cardboard glue the cutout onto one side & trim out the shape.I bent the wings of my butterfly up to give it a pose! Use the lidded origami box fold HOW-TO. The box I used was a pie box & the inside was white.I chose the white inside to be the outside of my origami box & cut out portions of pretty paper napkin to decorate it. I used the same method to create the butterfly on both ideas. There is a little paper napkin left. But,I used only one.It was lined - so if yours is lined, you might want to peel off that 2nd layer before you try to glue the paper to the alpha accent or the box.it will work much better with only one layer. Add any number of other embellishments.Buttons or glitter or beads & what-not. If nothing else, yours could be the cutest trash in the neighborhood! Maybe someone will want to take it home with them & put it to good use ! ;)
coffee canister people
very simple : dollar store type craft googlie eyes is all you need for this -- simply add them to the canister lid !
One of my most treasured ones !
recycled special edition Coke bottles /colored water sun catchers
this was so easy. The hardest part was to tie on the beads.
