these will go into the wood stove to use the same as logs
they are stuffed pretty tight & some are taped to hold it all in
junk mail, old catalogs (especially) anything paper & cardboard that would go into a trash bag , cloth snippets from other crafts ... I don't put in plastics or foils
When it get's more out of hand in warmer weather with no fire to add it all to , I'll save it up this same way & stow in the woodshed until I can use them
highly complimented
this was pretty easy & turned out being one of the most favorite & beloved items in the room ! I was just told the other day "if you ever decide to get rid of that picture I'LL TAKE IT FOR YOU " That's a pretty good compliment !
you need the tool on this website http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/ & a printer & tape (or glue but I dont know about glue) & possibly a frame if you wish.
Next below it : an accident that came to be realized as an art piece (so to speak) that only adorns the framed pic above (haha - they look GOOD together !) Candle wax got spilled on the tablecloth but DONT DISPAIR !
take the scissors & cut it off straight across (folding it down helps decide where to cut) & stich it on a dowel or recycled broom handle (it just so happens that THIS time I had a dowel) & it was prepainted because I KNEW what I was doing with this (it came to me via very little thought)
& while shopping one day I stopped in the discount part of a store near here & there was an opened package of the leafy plastic rod ends for (like) $2 or so so I grabbed them up all the while knowing what was happening with this piece ! (amazing how things sometimes work out that way enit ?!)
glued one leafy thing on one end & a drawer pull on the other & got the dragonfly pin in Sedalia one day at The Fig Leaf <gasp>
that's how this arrangement was born
I swear to you (sorry for the flash glare)
update : the friend I had & cherished died a few months ago -- I miss her. Ian's mom RIP Valerie ... <3
no reuse here -- but, I DID create it ...
from a public domain, free commercial use site
you can BUY this if you like, $25 -- contact me !
I made 2 of these -- pretty much identical !
p.s. at the last minute i realized i forgot about the little brass eye hooks -- simple as pie.had a hammer & nail on stand-by - tapped the nail in a little to make a start place for the screweye - then screwed one in on both ends !
contest winner !
Upcycle what you have to enjoy in new ways! I am using my broken screen door guard as a bracket in my bedroom to hold a birdcage planter and outside on my back patio to hold a small set of windchimes!
