In it's day, in another world - it was an OK lamp (I guess) Until I came along & gave it a better outlook ...
Rag Wrapped Newbie...
I formed the shape of this lamp with old clothing. A couple of T-shirts & a set of trouser legs that came from my moms garage at fall clean-up last yr. Make the shape you want then stich it to hold it tight. It doesn't have to be really neat.Just stich it enough to hold it. I chose an old chair cover from mom's basement. After laundering it I cut it into strips & rolled it into balls. Then wrapped the other clothing I used for moulding with it until I was satisfied.Make sure you cover all the underlying clothes or fabric you use well. But if you later see a "bald spot" you can tie on more rag & wrap more.
Later,I added the cool metal leaf shaped skeletal charms...
to each corner of the lamp shade I handstitched a charm ...
the lampshade also needed a little something.
A $1 leafy garland wrapped around for some uplift... the middle did too (i thought) so another $1 leafy garland lights on or off it is one of the coolest items in the room -- err the whole house !
I love it,personally...
My front room would be pretty boring without it & I would miss it !
